About our Dance School in Acton, West London

Elevate Arts Dance School in Acton,West London, was founded in November 2015 by Lucy Loughlin, with just a handful of students. Lucy started delivering Street Dance classes in West London as there weren’t any in the area at the time. She wanted to give back to the local community, inspire children and young people to achieve their dreams through dance, and pass on Hip Hop culture and Street Dance knowledge to the next generation.

Lucy’s training background is predominantly street dance based. She found a love for Street Dance in secondary school through an after school club, then from the age of 16, she trained and danced with a number of top London dance crews and companies, including Lethal Injection and Ricochet Street Dance company, both West London based youth companies.

Lucy has performed at prestigious venues including Wembley arena, the O2, Hammersmith Apollo and Sadler’s Wells and has worked professionally dancing at corporate events and in music videos. She has also choreographed pieces for Move It and Resolution.

Lucy began her teaching journey in 2011 before graduating with a first class honours in Dance Studies from Middlesex University in 2012 and completing her Street dance teacher training qualification in 2016. Lucy remains the only level 4 qualified Street Dance teacher in West London.

An opportunity arose in 2015 to start a Street Dance school in Acton, which is when Elevate Arts was born! Lucy’s dance journey started in Ealing, so to give back to the local community and pass on her knowledge of Authentic Street Dance is a dream come true.
