In September 2017 we held open auditions for dancers aged 7+ to form our brand new junior crew. Quite a few attended and were required to learn a routine and freestyle.  10 young dancers were selected and successful in making the cut for the crew.

These 10 dedicated dancers train every Saturday for 2 hours. Some of them also attend our over 8s class so do a whopping 3 hours of dance every week! We have been training together for 8 months to ensure we are strong enough as a group before we get there to perform at shows and competitions. In crew training we focus on building our young students as individuals, who are all rounded, diverse, cultured dance artists and who are able to conduct themselves in a professional and mature manner, giving them the best chance of succeeding in the dance industry. Weekly training includes working on fitness, foundations and drills, routines, how to choreograph, freestyle development, how to lead, performance skills, tricks and group work.

In May TRNSCND had their first official performance together as a crew at Ignition dance festival at The Lyric Theatre in Hammersmith. TRNSCND shared the stage with other local groups and got a chance to watch the show too and be inspired. Our young dancers had a great day, with loads of fun both on and off stage.

We are still training hard though because before summer is out, we have a few more performances! Make sure you follow us on social media to stay up to date with where we are when! @elevateartsuk
